THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST TO THE EARTH
When I met the Grace of God in Christ, at eighteen and a half years old, was in the air to make sure that Jesus' return was near.
The Cold War had created an apocalyptic mood and American prophets, sellers of Christian books, wrote a boatload of bestsellers that have been consumed throughout the Christian world, so that the church brought a certain boiling on the subject. Child was speculation that such books were always trying to associate Jesus' return to the political position of the Americans. If Jesus came back as those books, would bring an American flag on the strap and a cloak with the Israel flag on his shoulders.
Even the "heresies" of the time involved the question, were the apocalípiticos Adventists on one side or the other side, the liberals, who did not believe in no bodily return of Jesus to earth.
Then came the Theology of Prosperity and completely killed the hope in the Lord's return.
Of course. Who think that the kingdom of God is this world who believe that can start to reign economically and politically in this life being helped in a special way by God, who wants all His children to be richer and stronger than other men, there to earnestly desire the Lord's return?
Because, even if unconsciously, something says, even the most alienated from them, that is not how things are to God!
So they would not want to meet the Lord "now", knowing that it would not be good the bill that would pay him.
The "church" is completely uninterested in the Lord's return - after all, there is still much to win for the "church" in this world!
Unlike her, the world seems to be seeing and feeling that something will happen.
I do not speak of a catastrophe, but of history as catastrophe.
Most minimally sensible people have realized that humanity is the Apocalypse.
History is the Apocalypse.
And under the circumstances, with all disorders of ecological nature that are happening on the planet, the very wisdom says that we are creating an apocalypse.
Everyone thought before that God would send the pests and that the Revelation was the work of the meanness of angels, pouring cups, playing trumpets evocative woes or shouting "Ais" agony of mankind.
Today we know that is not so.
Men are they doing each of these things, and changing the nature so that Revelation is natural.
The angels of the Apocalypse are just telling us in advance what we ourselves will do to humanity and the planet Earth.
Ecologists stop the trip here. At best, they set off for the protest.
Christians should strive with all our strength against this change in the essence of things, as well the powers of heaven shall be shaken ... against men.
Christian struggle has to be true and hopeful. For if we win to stop, make a living, and men learn. If we do not win the parade, win, however, the route of the roads, as the heavens will open with a roar, and all see the Son of Man in the clouds of heaven.
That's why in Matthew 24 Jesus tells how the world will end. And the next chapter he says that we have to attack with roof, bread, glass of water, blanket, shelter, friendship, solidarity and love, so that the world does not end.
This is a healthy tension.
After all, if we live, we live to the Lord; if we die, we die to the Lord; either because we live or die, we are the Lord!
